Quick Hit: Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025
While this Galaxy Unpacked event was largely about AI, it was indicative of a bigger vision spelled out by Samsung at CES 2025 earlier this month. The consumer electronics industry and mobile are getting very competitive, especially with daunting and resurgent challenges coming from Chinese players prompting Samsung and its South Korean peers to think bigger about AI and their differentiation in mobile.
Check out a couple of key takes from Leonard Lee who attended Galaxy Unpacked 2025 as he was on the verge of getting kicked out of the exhibition area.

Hey everybody, this is Leonard Lee, Executive Analyst at NextCurve, and I'm here in San Jose for Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked 2025. And, you know, it's winding down here. It was packed before. And, uh, it was so packed that I could not take video, and so Now that things have mellowed out a little bit, I just wanted to share some, highlights from the event. So, This year, yes, again, it was all about AI. Samsung introduced a number of new features, but more importantly, what they did is they couched their AI strategy with, One UI. One UI 7 in particular. They made a Point to emphasize the importance of an AI platform. what that means, still have to dig under the covers a bit. We did get to see bits and pieces of what they meant by an AI platform. But one thing is for certain, it's no longer just about. The smartphone and what Samsung is trying to do here is really extend this vision of Galaxy AI. Let's call it one UI Across all of their Various devices that they provide those of you who know Samsung They make a lot more than these In fact Samsung is what they call a chaebol, which is a Korean conglomerate. And so they have businesses all over the place, right? From semiconductors to construct heavy constructions to, finance. They're also in white goods as well as in residential construction. So, they're ideal in that as a AI purveyor, if you will, of having this footprint that pretty much transverses. All the scenarios of our lives. And so I think that's what makes Samsung really unique here. But obviously one of the things that was a marquee thing coming out of galaxy impact is always the phones, right? And so this is. The new, Samsung S25 Ultra. Beautiful phone. They went with a little bit of a more rounded design here. You can't really see it all that well, but you don't have these rigid angles that you had in the previous generation phones. this is the Samsung Galaxy S25 and this is the standard version, of the S25 and I'll be providing more details on these devices, provide links, comments, below.
